With only a few days left of 2017 it’s only right that I post a reflection on my year. I’ve been so busy with university work over Christmas and haven’t had a lot of time to write longer blog posts which is a shame but obviously my university work has had to take priority over Christmas. Since I haven’t had as much time to write for my blog, I thought I’d write this post in the format of a little list instead of a longer one and include what are, in my opinion, some of the best things of 2017.

Film: La La Land

This was one of the most perfect films I’ve ever seen and was instantly up there as one of my favourite films ever. I’ve been a dance pretty much all of my life and so I always have a connection to anything dance or music related. This film had it all!

You can check out the film on Amazon here

Trip: Lisbon, Portugal

This was such a lovely holiday with my family! Lisbon is absolutely gorgeous (despite it’s incredibly hilly landscape) and definitely somewhere that I’d love to visit again soon. If you’re thinking of planning a trip to Lisbon then DO IT. But of course don’t forget to check out some of my posts about the fabulous city here and here (…even if you aren’t planning a trip there you should still check them out).

TV Show: Stranger Things 2 (duh!)

If you follow me on Twitter I’m sure you’ll know that I am obsessed with Stranger Things and have been since it first came out last year! I was so excited for season 2 to be released this year and it definitely didn’t disappoint. If you haven’t seen it already you should seriously check it out – the first scene is a little scary but don’t let that put you off if you’re someone who is worried about being creeped out by the show (it isn’t all scary!).

Stranger Things is available to watch now on Netflix.

Drink: Iced Coffee

I’m pretty sure this a favourite of pretty much every blogger in the world so I doubt I’m sharing anything new here! Although, I always drink my iced coffee without any extra sweetener or syrup. Plain and simple is the way forward for me!

Music: Melodrama by Lorde

I could easily have a huge list of amazing music from 2017 here but I had to choose just one stand out album/song/artist and that is definitely Lorde’s Melodrama. Anyway, I have to keep some of my favourites a secret ready for my new playlists for 2018 don’t I!

Item: Dr Martens Kiev Backpack

Again, I could easily have a huge list of all of my favourite items from 2017 (most of which would probably be my vintage coat purchases) but I’ve picked one to share with you all. If you read My Christmas Wishlist post then you’ll know that I desperately wanted a Dr Martens Kiev Backpack for Christmas and I was lucky enough to get it! My level of excitement to bring this out when I head back to university in January is so high right now.

Recipe: Sweet Potato, Spinach and Chickpea Curry

This is such an amazing vegan curry which I love making for myself at university – especially considering how cold it is over the winter months in the UK. Despite not being vegetarian or vegan myself, I’ve always preferred to cooking vegetable-based dishes and for me there aren’t a lot of recipes greater than a vegetable curry! I’ve shared the recipe before on my blog here if any of you are interested in checking it out and giving it a go yourself!

Moment: There’s too many!

From starting my own blog to having my first real exhibition in a London art gallery, 2017 has been an interesting year of unique experiences and moments for me. Looking back I’ve realised just how much I’ve actually managed to achieve and I feel like there’s so much I can build on ready for 2018!

Thanks for reading! I hope you’ve all had a fabulous 2017 and if not here’s to the new year. Let me know some of your favourite and best moments of 2017 in the comments below.
